Resident Focused For Cupertino: Now Go Out And Vote!

Kitty Moore and Ray Wang will do the work and we will represent YOU, not special interests. Vote for Kitty and Ray for an approach that is about doing the work of the public rather than playing harmful political games.

The narrative of this election has, in fact, been defined pretty much exclusively by our views, our approach, and the work we have done, whether we are communicating those with you, or whether other people are attacking us or taking credit for the work that we did. Have you wondered why this is?

Working for integrity always has its detractors. These would be people who have something to gain because they are looking to take shortcuts, to take credit for work they didn’t do, and to smear others because they feel too threatened or simply don’t have the ability and preparation to engage otherwise.

We will do the work, and do it with integrity, because we know, for instance, how to read pro formas and determine where the financial bottom line of a developer is trying to push for actions that hurt our community’s interests, be it due to office-chasing profitmongering (that has now drastically changed - and remember, what happened to the fitness facility that was supposed to be at Main Street?), or due to trying to evade their legal responsibilities in ensuring a clean environment.

We know that financial success and public health and safety are fully compatible, not because we find ways to virtue signal and take credit, but because we do the actual work, listen to people, and take the difficult stances that need to be taken. And we will keep taking those stances no matter how many lies are told about us and about what harmful special interests are trying to do.

These are not excuses. Public safety and other problems are real concerns that must be addressed properly. Otherwise, our problems get worse while our public officials not only do nothing, but if you make the wrong choices, they also make the problems worse while blaming others.

The contrast in approaches is stark. Try having a conversation with people who don’t read the materials or whose idea of leading a representative democracy is about choosing which side to curry favor to. It is a very different conversation from those listening to your concerns and thinking through the issues. And the campaigning reflects that as well. The real results reflect the work done.

Please also keep in mind that there is a very important reason that our local election for city council is a non-partisan election. What matters on the most local level is whether the candidates are looking out for you and doing the work rather than playing political games.

Kitty and Ray, for instance, have supported, from a very early stage, Proposition 36, which is also on your ballot, to ensure that public safety gets restored so that car break-ins, burglaries and thefts are properly addressed rather than increasingly a problem. Other candidates for city council have followed suit very late, but only when politically convenient, and even though this contradicts the very party endorsements that some of them tout.

We need people who will make principled and consistent stands for us, as opposed to playing political games on behalf of themselves and on behalf of those who can do them monetary and other favors. We need thinkers who will do the work and have actual integrity rather than claim the credit while attacking others. We ask that you vote for Kitty and Ray for Cupertino City Council to ensure that the actual work gets done.

Thank you for your kind support. We look forward to serving you further.

In Friendship,
Kitty Moore and Ray Wang

Please vote number 1 (Kitty Moore) and number 5 (Ray Wang) on your ballot statements.
